Lärkstan Apartment
A private residence conceived as an allkonstverk — a total work of art where paintings, murals, objects and interiors form one continuous world.

Project type: Private residence / Artistic environment
Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Year: 2023
Area: 206 sqm
Scope: Artistic direction, site-specific murals, objects, colour concept and interior concept
Lärkstan Apartment is a private residence in Stockholm and one of Madelen Möllard’s first complete artistic environments. Conceived as an allkonstverk – a total work of art – the apartment brings together paintings, murals, sculptural objects, colour and spatial composition into one coherent world. The project explores how art can move beyond the canvas and become part of the spaces people live in.

The apartment was developed as an immersive environment, where colour, form and material work together to create a sense of entering a complete world.

Paintings and murals were not treated as decorative additions, but as site-specific works integrated into the spatial language of the apartment.

Sculptural objects, furniture and details were conceived as extensions of the same artistic language, allowing the work to move from the canvas into the room.

The project is held together through colour relationships, repeated forms and small gestures that create continuity across the home.

At the top of the apartment, the atelier forms part of the same world – a working space where paintings, objects and environments continue to inform one another.
